This policy explains how CareerGuru handles information when you visit careerguru.tech and use its tools. We designed the current site so its core features work without an account or a CareerGuru database.
Information entered into tools
The Resume Match, Application Writer, STAR Interview Builder, Salary Converter, and Document Workspace run in your browser. Text, amounts, images, and PDF or Word files entered into those tools are not intentionally transmitted to or stored by CareerGuru. Selected documents and generated results remain temporarily in browser memory until you refresh, navigate away, or close the page. Files you download remain on your device.
The Job Application Tracker stores entries in your browser’s local storage. CareerGuru cannot access those entries through the current site. They remain available to people using the same browser profile until you delete them or clear site data. Export a JSON backup before clearing data if you need to restore the list later; CSV is available for spreadsheet use.
Basic hosting data
Our hosting provider, Vercel, may process technical request data needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP address, request time, requested URL, user-agent information, and security or error logs. We do not currently operate a separate user analytics system.
Cookies and similar storage
The Job Application Tracker uses local storage only when you use it. Google AdSense and its advertising partners may use or access cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies as described below. CareerGuru does not currently operate a separate user analytics system. Your browser settings can inspect or delete site storage.
Advertising
CareerGuru uses Google AdSense. The AdSense code is present on the site, although ads only become eligible to appear after Google approves the site and when ad inventory is available. Google and its advertising partners may process information such as your IP address, browser and device information, page address, referrer, cookies, and device identifiers to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, and limit repeated ads. Ads may be personalized where permitted and consented to, or non-personalized based on your location and choices.
Where required, a consent message may ask you to manage advertising choices. You can also review how Google uses information from partner sites, Google’s privacy policy, and Google Ads settings.
If you contact us by email, we receive the address, message, and other information you choose to include. We use it to answer the message, investigate an issue, and maintain necessary correspondence. Do not send resumes, government identifiers, health information, passwords, or other sensitive data.
Data sharing and sale
We do not sell personal information or resume content. We may rely on service providers for hosting and email, disclose information when legally required, or protect users, the site, and our rights from fraud or abuse. Service providers process information under their own terms and privacy obligations.
Security and retention
No online service can guarantee absolute security. We reduce exposure by avoiding accounts and server-side storage for the current tools. Hosting logs and email correspondence may be kept for operational, security, legal, or support needs, then removed or anonymized when no longer reasonably required.
International visitors and children
The site is available internationally, so technical data may be processed in countries other than your own. CareerGuru is designed for people managing education and employment decisions and is not intentionally directed to children under 13. If a local law requires a higher minimum age for independent use, that local rule applies.
Your choices
- Do not enter information you do not want stored on the device.
- Clear careerguru.tech site data in your browser to remove tracker entries.
- Use JSON backup before deleting local data.
- Contact us to ask about information contained in an email you sent.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when features, providers, or legal requirements change. The latest version will appear on this page with a revised date.
