Is CareerGuru really free?
Yes. The current tools are free and have no usage limit. Google AdSense may show clearly identified ads after the site is approved, without charging job seekers for basic access.
Do you upload or store my resume and documents?
No. Resume matching and PDF/Word processing happen in your browser. File contents are not sent to CareerGuru, and refreshing or closing the page clears the working data. Files you download remain on your device.
Which PDF and Word features are included?
You can merge PDFs, extract or reorder selected pages, rotate pages, add page numbers or a text watermark, combine JPG/PNG/WebP images into a PDF, open PDF or `.docx` text, find and replace content, export Word, and print or save as PDF.
Which document types are supported?
The uploaders accept PDF and modern Word `.docx` files only. Old `.doc` files must first be saved as `.docx`. Scanned PDFs need OCR before their text can be edited, and complex layouts may not be preserved in a clean-text conversion.
Can the resume score predict an ATS result?
No. Applicant tracking systems differ, and employers configure them differently. Our score is a transparent keyword-coverage check that helps you review relevance; it is not a pass probability.
Where are my tracked applications saved?
They are stored only in local storage in the browser and device you use. Export JSON to create a restorable backup, or CSV for a spreadsheet, before clearing browser data or moving devices.
Does CareerGuru replace a career adviser?
No. These are self-help tools and general education. A qualified local professional can help with complex career, immigration, legal, or financial decisions.
