      How private browser processing works

      Your selected documents are read by code running in your browser. CareerGuru does not send their contents to our servers, create a document account, or retain a cloud copy. Refreshing or closing the page removes the working file from page memory; downloaded results remain wherever your browser saves them.

      Browser processing also has practical limits. Very large files can use substantial memory, password-protected files cannot be opened, and image-only scans need optical character recognition before their text can be edited. The limits shown beside each uploader prevent the most common browser crashes.

      Choosing the right PDF action

      Merge without re-rendering

      Merging copies the original PDF pages into one file in the selected order. It does not turn pages into screenshots, so selectable text and vector graphics normally remain intact. Review bookmarks, interactive forms, and digital signatures afterward because structural PDF changes may invalidate or omit them.

      Extract, remove, or reorder

      To keep only pages 2 through 5, enter 2-5 and choose Extract. To reorder three pages, enter 3,1,2. The original file stays untouched. This is useful for sharing one chapter, removing unrelated attachments, or fixing page order.

      Rotate, number, or watermark selected pages

      Use all for the whole document or a page list for a smaller change. Page numbers are based on the original PDF order. Watermarks are intentionally light and centered; they are a visible label, not access control or copy protection.

      Creating a PDF from images

      Images stay in the chosen order and are scaled to fit without cropping. A4 and Letter are useful for printing or sharing scans with a consistent page size. “Fit each image” keeps each page close to the image’s own proportions. Very large photos can still create a large PDF because CareerGuru does not silently reduce their quality.

      What the Word editor preserves

      The editor focuses on readable text. It is useful for correcting wording, removing unnecessary material, converting extracted PDF text to Word, and creating a clean new document. It is not a full replacement for Microsoft Word and does not promise pixel-perfect preservation of an imported design.

      Use a short title and ordinary paragraphs for the most dependable export. Lines beginning with #, ##, or ### become Word headings, and lines beginning with a hyphen become bullet points. After downloading, open the file in your preferred office application and confirm spacing, page breaks, contact details, and accessibility.

      Document tool questions

      Does CareerGuru support old `.doc` files?

      No. The older binary Word format is not safely readable in this browser tool. Open it in Word, LibreOffice, or another trusted editor and save it as `.docx` first.

      Why is my scanned PDF blank?

      A scan usually contains pictures of text rather than selectable text. Run OCR in a trusted application, then import the searchable PDF. CareerGuru does not send scans to a third-party OCR service.

      Can I use these tools for confidential documents?

      Local processing reduces exposure, but your device, browser extensions, downloads folder, backups, and shared computer account still matter. Follow your employer’s document-handling rules and avoid processing material you are not authorized to use.
